The Balanced Start Session is a personalized one-on-one introduction designed to help you understand your options and begin in a way that reflects your goals, experience, and movement needs. It is ideal for anyone who would like guidance before joining classes or selecting a service. It is recommended, but not required, for every new client.

What Happens During the Session
Conversation and Goal Setting
We will discuss what has brought you to the studio, what you would like to improve, your previous movement experience, your lifestyle, and any concerns you may have.
Health and Movement History
You will have the opportunity to share relevant injuries, pain, health conditions, previous rehabilitation, surgeries, and factors that may influence your movement experience.
Introductory Movement Assessment
Depending on your scope and the individual client, this may include observations of:
- posture
- breathing
- balance
- mobility
- strength
- stability
- control
- common movement patterns
- comfort using Pilates equipment
Equipment Introduction
New clients may be introduced to the reformer, basic terminology, spring changes, positioning, and foundational movement concepts.
Personalized Recommendations
At the end of the session, you will receive recommendations for classes, private instruction, Clinical Pilates, or another suitable starting point.
